What is Peer Wellness Support?
The purpose of these sessions is to support your well-being by creating a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment to discuss your mental health and wellness. During sessions, you can expect non-judgmental listening, information about available resources, opportunities to reflect, and strategies for healthy coping. The goal is that you leave sessions feeling supported, optimistic, and empowered to make your own choices.

Who is it for?
Wellness sessions are open to all current Langara students (including students enrolled in Continuing Studies and students currently located outside Canada).

How will it be delivered?
The Peer Wellness Support Program will be offering one-on-one and small group sessions online. Lauren, the Program Coordinator, will facilitate these sessions, and may also be joined by student volunteer Peer Helpers, who are in training to facilitate sessions of their own.

Lauren (she, her) is a Certified Peer Educator with three years of experience providing peer support and group facilitation. She also has a BSc in Biology, an Advanced Certificate in Health Leadership, and is currently pursuing Nursing. Lauren is passionate about mental health and wellness, and is very excited to be part of this program and support Langara students.

Sessions will be offered by appointment on Wednesdays, weeknights, and weekends. There will also be drop-in hours available on Wednesdays.

Please note, appointments must be scheduled and confirmed at least 24 hours in advance of the requested session.

Book your one-on-one or group session through the Subject Tutoring Online Booking System.
