Date: Oct 15, 2020 to Nov 19, 2020
Time: 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM

After our world entered this worldwide pandemic, Counselling Services decided to offer a support group in the summer semester so students had a place to share and process their struggles together. The students who participated said the group was a "game changer" and "one of the best things that happened ... during the summer term!" Students felt heard, connected to their peers, and more able to manage the challenges and uncertainties they were facing because of the ability to share and learn from one another. Because it was such a success, Counselling Services is offering two support groups this fall!

If you have been struggling with the stress of online learning and feeling lonely and disconnected, participating in one of the support groups may offer you a renewed sense of connection, community, and resiliency.

The groups will be run by Counsellors Merike Bruen, Jamie Spray, and Sammy Beveridge. If you're interested in participating in a Langara support group, the commitment is 6 weekly 1-hour groups. One group will be on Tuesdays 1:30 pm–2:30 pm starting on October 13 and the other will be on Thursdays 1:30 pm–2:30 pm starting on October 15. Please email as soon as possible to secure your spot for a brief screening conversation.
