Subject: COVID-19 Update: Spring 2021 Campus Access Procedures, Parking, and Winter Closure 

We continue working on ways to improve our campus check-in procedure while keeping health and safety top of mind. We are pleased to launch a new smart card service starting in January 2021 after the holidays. 

New Smart Cards for Building Access 

For all students who need access to campus, we will have “Smart” access cards to simplify check-in. Simply tap your new student ID (smart card) to gain entry to the building you need access to. We will be emailing you further instructions on how to pick up a card and how to use them – look for this in your inbox. Campus Access Procedures will also be posted on building entrances. Students who do not have a card and are just visiting the campus occasionally to access services (Library, Bookstore, computer labs, Indigenous Gathering Space), please continue to access buildings via Health & Safety Check-Ins at the Key Entrances

Check-In Procedures 

Before you come to campus: 

1. Complete the COVID-19 Safety Awareness Course on BrightSpace (note: mask requirements have changed). 

2. Complete your daily self-assessment each day you come to campus. 

When you’re on campus 

3.  Locate your entrance. 

  • a. Tap your Smart Card at the card readers located at building entrances, OR 
  • b. Check in via the Health & Safety Check-in Stations located at the key entrances. Be prepared to answer health questions and present contact information for contact tracing. 


Reminder that free parking has been extended through April 30, 2021. 

Winter Closure 
The College will be closed from December 24–January 3. Continuing Studies classes resume January 4 and regular studies classes resume January 6, 2021.
