Due to rapid increases in the number of COVID-19 cases in the region, yesterday the Provincial Health Officer of BC instituted new restrictions for two weeks within the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health Authority regions. As these restrictions apply to Vancouver where the College is located, we are reviewing our health and safety plans in response to these new orders and will advise the Langaracommunity of any changes to our procedures. In the interim we remind you to:

  • Stay home if you have any cold or flu symptoms
  • If you study on campus, but can study from home, please do so for this week and next.
  • Everyone should limit non-essential visits to campus during this time. If you must come to campus, continue to do the Thrive BC self-assessment every day without exception. The College may increase our validation that this is being done consistently.
  • When on campus, continue to maintain physical distances as per our health and safety plans, and wear a mask whenever you are not able to do so, especially in public areas such as hallways, study areas, A and T Building foyers etc.
  • If you are positive for COVID-19, please follow all directives given you or develop symptoms while on campus, please notify your instructor.

The Langara community has been doing a good job of following our health and safety protocols, and we thank you for your continued cooperation and flexibility as circumstances and our procedures change. Everyone in our region needs to do their part to help flatten our curve. Please be sure to review and follow all the new orders issued yesterday, including the new limits on social gatherings.

As always, your feedback and questions can be sent to us at covidquestions@langara.ca. Our latest updates for students can be found on langara.ca/covid.
