Personal Network Storage
All employees have a personal 4GB network space in which to save current work:
- Windows
- Mac
- EMPLHOME - main campus (no direct access from 601 Broadway campus on personal computers (use myFiles))
This drive is designated for currently used files only. It should not be used for archiving or for non-work files.
Departmental Network Storage
Departments also have shared space:
- Windows
- J:\drive - main campus
- I:\ drive - 601 Broadway campus
- Mac
- EMPLSHARE - main campus (no direct access from 601 Broadway campus on personal computers (use myFiles))
Course Network Storage
Courses also have shared space:
- Windows
- O:\drive - main campus
- N:\ drive - 601 Broadway campus
- Mac
- STUDSHARE - main campus (no direct access from 601 Broadway campus on personal computers (use myFiles))
This allows instructors to post course materials, students to submit assignments, and students and instructors to exchange materials.
- The course drive folder structure is created prior to the start of each semester. Each course's shared area is in a folder named Course + Section (ie BIOL115-001)
- At the end of each exam period all course materials will be deleted. Instructors need to back up all course material prior to this end-of-semester purge.
- The Journalism and Publishing departments have additional Collaborative space on STUDENTSHARE (Mac), or R:\ drive (PC)
- Each course section folder has a quota of 4GB.
All these network locations can be accessed from any computer on campus, and via myfiles from off-campus.
All content on network drives is subject to Langara College Computing Policy.
