Judith is a Professional Artist with an extensive exhibition record, and studio practice. She is an Honours graduate of Emily Carr University of Art & Design, and studied at the Banff School of Fine Arts, Capilano College and with ECUAD in Florence, Italy. Judith is a Painter in a variety of media and has created large scale installations and sculpture with non-traditional materials.
Shary Bartlett has a Master’s degree in literature and art history and a certificate in creative writing from SFU’s Writer’s Studio; her writing has been published in newspapers across Canada. Shary studied fine art at Emily Carr University and her artwork is held in private collections. Shary's teaching approach focuses on creative process and experimentation and the atmosphere in her classes is playful, relaxed and supportive.
Paul Chizik is a Vancouver painter trained in Florence and the USA, his work is strongly linked to historical painting. A painting instructor for over a decade, he teaches in a variety of mediums such as oil, watercolour, gouache and tempera.
Born in Johannesburg, Liza Visagie originally studied at the University of South Africa before moving to Vancouver to pursue an education as a master printer. She completed her degree in Fine Arts at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 1999. Liza's area of focus is landscape painting, and she employs the shapes, tones, and colours found in nature to compose the language of her work. She combines traditional oil painting techniques with investigative and innovative approaches in a contemporary context. Liza has exhibited both locally and internationally, and enjoys helping students bring scenic vistas to the canvas and page.
Betty T. Woo graduated from the National Taiwan Normal Univeristy (NTNU) in Taipei with a degree in Fine Arts before attending the Vancouver School of Art to complete a BFA in Painting and Sculpting. She has worked as an instructor and sculptor since 1974, teaching a variety of courses including oil and acrylic painting, watercolour, drawing, and portraiture. Deeply passionate about the arts, Betty has travelled extensively to add dimensions to her work and has been featured in solo and group exhibitions both locally and internationally. Her wealth of experience also includes creating mascots, animation figures, and parade floats. Betty's work can be found in private collections in Italy, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and throughout North America.
