Lecture Series
PCCN hosts an annual lecture series held on the traditional and ancestral territory of the Musqueam people, on the Langara College campus.
The lecture series is a requirement for PCCN students (PCCN 1105); it is also open to all Langara College students and to the general public. Guest speakers include local activists, peace builders, and scholars working in the broad field of conflict transformation and peace.
The lecture series is non-credit and free. Registered Langara students who complete all three lectures of the lecture series receive a note on their transcript indicating the successful completion of the series. Specific dates and speakers vary from year to year.
The lecture series demonstrates the wide application and relevance of Peace and Conflict Studies to real-world challenges. Guest speakers provide insights about grass-roots efforts to create a more peaceful, sustainable, and equitable world.
