Drawing is a core component of the Langara Fine Arts Program with skills transferable to all other studio areas. In first year drawing, students develop their perceptual skills and understanding of principles such as edges, spaces, proportion, pictorial space, composition and value. Students draw from the human subject, still life and interior and exterior spaces. Second year drawing continues to focus on observational skills while students are introduced to alternative drawing processes and a more conceptual and self-directed approach to art making.
