Professional Accounting Certificate

Graduates of the Professional Accounting Certificate program will be able to integrate accounting with general business and information technology tools to maximize their contribution to the success of any organization.

The Professional Accounting Certificate fulfills 7 of 12 prerequisites for entry to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). The remaining 5 prerequisites can be completed through the Advanced Accounting Certificate. 

Professional Accounting Certificate program graduates are able to compete in a broad range of career opportunities in all areas of industry, government/non-profit and public practice.

Graduates are qualified for positions related to:

  • Finance
  • Business Consulting

Advanced Accounting Certificate

Upon completion of the Advanced Accounting Certificate at Langara College, students will have knowledge and skills in advanced management accounting, advanced financial accounting, individual and corporate taxation, auditing, strategy, and accounting systems.

Students may complete the remaining steps (i.e., CPA PEP, Common Final Examination, and practical work experience) for their professional accounting designation directly with CPA. 

Once a student receives their CPA designation, career rewards are limitless. A CPA designation can lead to senior management positions such as but not limited to:

  • Senior Auditor
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • Chief Operating Officer
  • Corporate Tax Specialist
  • Vice President
  • Corporate Controller
