How to Apply for Part-Time Student Loans

Students wishing to apply for part-time student aid will need to apply through the Student Information Management System (SIMS). You can access the login page here.

Applicants and, if applicable, their spouses must download and set up their BC Services Card App to access SIMS and complete their application online.

What Happens After I Apply in SIMS?

Once you have completed and submitted your application, including all requested supported documentation, it will be reviewed by StudentAid BC.

You are encouraged to monitor the status of your application; however, you will receive an email prompting you to log in to SIMS, to view the results of your assessment. Your assessment will indicate the amount and type of funding you are eligible to receive.

Financial Aid will monitor students’ applications and provide a fee deferral where applicable. If you are provided with a fee deferral, an email indicating important information on the deferral will be sent to your myLangara and preferred email addresses.

Important Note: You must review and accept the assessment to receive your funding.

Once a student accepts their assessment, a confirmation of enrolment will be sent to the college to review and approve.

Where Can I Have My Questions Answered?

Students can visit the front counter of the Registrar & Enrolment Services (T101) from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, where Financial Aid support for questions related to part-time applications or navigating SIMS will be available.
