PHYS 1124: Energy and Environment
How can we provide the world's population with the energy we need without accelerating climate change? Currently about 85% of energy used globally comes from burning fossil fuels, and is the cause of the climate problem. What alternatives are available? How feasible are they? Examine these questions and more with PHYS 1124: Energy and Environment. Students will be challenged with labs, lectures, problem-solving, films and videos, discussions, field trips, guest speakers and debates. Energy conservation, individual actions, and energy plans and policies are also examined. This fully-transferable course will only be available this Fall 2017. Register now.
