Admission Requirements
This program is open to International and Domestic students who have completed B.C. Grade 12 or equivalent. Prospective students who have not completed Grade 12 or equivalent can still apply to this program, but they must be 19 years or older. Additionally, these students must submit a personal resume in addition to their completed application as described above.
For international students who successfully complete this program, the program meets the requirements for Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility.
This program is Student Loan eligible for domestic students. If interested in exploring this option and you have questions, please contact our Financial Aid department.
Portfolio Submission
Although our program is fully comprehensive with a ground-up approach, to ensure your place for registration we strongly urge applicants to have some basic experience with a musical instrument, DJ’ing or recording and/or sequencing with any music production software. We do have a waiting list, so applicants that can demonstrate some prior musical ability will be prioritized. Applicants can submit a recording of a performance, audio or video, or a song they produced in a DAW. An MP3 with your name and song title, a Soundcloud, Spotify or YouTube link are all acceptable for submission.
Letter of Intent
Please write a few sentences outlining your previous interest and experiences with music, and what skills you hope to develop most during the program. This should be between 250 and 500 words.
Academic Transcripts
Applicants must submit official or original academic transcripts from their high school and/or post-secondary (college or university) education. If the transcripts are originally in a language other than English, an official exact English translation must be submitted in addition to the original transcript.
