Program
The full-time intensive program focuses on employment services, offering a series of courses that meet the national standards for Career Development Practitioners. Graduates are prepared for a range of careers including employment counsellor, career development practitioner, vocational consultant, job developer, career development caseworker, and career coach. Students will also have an opportunity to complete workplace practicum to put the theory into practice. If you are aiming to finish the full certificate but can only take few courses at a time, please speak with the coordinator to arrange a course plan.

- Personality Dimensions® Level 1 training (Must attend all 3 days to be eligible to write the Certification exam on the 3rd day)
- Workplace Practicum (Two weeks)
Courses can be taken individually or as part of the Certificate program. The program follows the Canadian Standards and Guidelines for Career Development Practitioners. Successful completion of the course(s) with a minimum C+ grade is required for a certificate.
Exemptions
No course exemtptions allowed. All program courses must be completed at Langara College, Continuing Studies Career Development Professional Certificate Program.
Selection and Placement of students:
Langara College, places CDPC students their Workplace Practicum Placement. Langara College provide the final confirmation in where the students are placed. Placements may be virtual or in-person as this depends on the employer’s needs. In all situations, students must comply with the host employer’s protocols. At the discretion of the Langara College Continuing Studies, the CDPC Program may be cancelled if we do not receive enough student registrations to run the program in the term.
Criminal Record Check (CRC- Vulnerable Sector):
Students will complete a CRC before entering their Workplace Practicum Placement. Fees associated with obtaining their CRC is the student’s responsibility.
