2018 VOLT Homecoming

Vancouver BC – Langara’s VOLT Student Volunteer (VOLT) program, held its annual homecoming event on campus on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Over 35 program alumni, students, and staff as well as two of the programs original co-founders, former Langara student Warren Springer and Langara Dean of Student Services Clayton Munro, were in attendance.

“I am a proud VOLT alumni,” said Maggie Stewart, VOLT Program Coordinator. “I’d like to say that I literally grew up in the program having gone from volunteer to employee So, the evening was amazing both personally and professionally. It was wonderful to be able to share the moment with Clayton and Warren, who founded and championed the program. There was so much positive energy in the room and it was wonderful to reconnect with old friends and former students, share memories, and hear what they’ve been up to since leaving Langara.”

“Today was really cool. VOLT was only a concept when Clayton, Jade, and I first started planning this,” said Warren Springer, VOLT co-founder. “I am amazed at how the program has grown. Hearing about VOLTs impact, with over 3,000 students going through the program and 57,000 volunteer hours, was amazing. Seeing active students and alumni coming out to celebrate the program really shows that the spirit to give persists even after Langara.”
