International Regional Entrance Scholarship

The International Regional Entrance Scholarships were established to financially support international students coming to Langara College in pursuit of higher education. Applicants can apply for the $7,500 award if they are planning to start their full-time undergraduate studies in the specified semester. Eligible recipients will have $5,000 applied towards the cost of tuition and fees in their first term of study. Recipients must maintain a CGPA of 2.67 in their first term and be registered full-time in an eligible program to receive the balance of their award as tuition credit in their second term of study. Eligibility Criteria

Recipients will:

  • Be admitted or conditionally admitted to Langara as an international student for the specified semester;
  • Intend to study full-time (nine or more credits) in a regular studies undergraduate program;
  • Have IELTS 7.0 with no bands less than 6.5, or equivalent. Students who are residents of and completed formal education from English-speaking countries may be exempt from this requirement. Grades in English courses may be considered;
  • Have a minimum 80% GPA from high school or post-secondary institution. Post-secondary only to be considered if a full credential has been completed from a college or university outside of Canada;
  • Be from one of the following regions: Americas, Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Middle East, Europe, or CIS.

The deadline to apply for the spring 2025 intake is May 31, 2024 by 4 pm. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by email in early summer.

Applications for the summer 2025 intake will open on June 1, 2024.

Steps to Apply

  1. Complete the application form below in full before the deadline.
  2. Include all the following in the fields provided below:

    • copy of your offer of admission letter;
    • copy of IELTS score or equivalent, if applicable;
    • copies of transcripts from previous institutions showing minimum average of 80%;
    • personal statement that describes your reason(s) for applying for this entrance award and outline any academic merit or contribution to the learning community that would qualify you to receive it.

Official English translations of the above documents must also be submitted if the original documents are not written in English.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure this application is completed in full. Complete all sections of the application form below. Applications submitted that are missing information may result in disqualification.
