Understanding Personal Computing

Discontinued as of Summer Semester 2025.This course provides an overview of personal computers and their use in home and business settings. Learn how to decipher computer jargon and make more informed hardware and software buying choices. Get hands-on practice with the Windows operating system and basic applications such as word processing (Word). Finally, you will be introduced to some of the many online possibilities for research, communications, and shopping. This course is recommended for those with very little or no computer experience.
