Langara College Diploma in Kinesiology with minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.7 → The University of British Columbia 3^rd Year of the Bachelor of Kinesiology.

Objective of the Agreement

The parties to this MOU wish to establish a Kinesiology Transfer Program by the fall 2017 academic year. Students who successfully complete the two-year kinesiology program at Langara College with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.7 are guaranteed admission to year three of the bachelor of kinesiology program at UBC. Students who take kinesiology courses at Langara College but who do not complete the two-year program are not eligible for the admission guarantee as stated above and will be evaluated by the School of Kinesiology as transfer applicants.

1. Establishment of a seamless admission/transfer process between the two institutions, which provides qualified students from Langara College with a clearly defined option for continuing their education in Bachelor of Kinesiology program at the University of British Columbia.
2. This understanding includes a commitment to monitoring student progress to ensure that a high GPA alone is a suitable means of assessing a transfer student's readiness for university. Information collected will be used to facilitate annual review of the transfer agreement.
3. Ensuring and facilitating ongoing academic coordination and collaboration to maintain this agreement. Both the School of Kinesiology and the Department of Kinesiology agree to engage in discussions annually to review the Transfer Agreement and to consider the potential for changing the GPA required for admission or other particulars under this agreement.

Terms:

The signing of this agreement is not a formal undertaking. It implies that the signatories will strive to reach the objectives stated in the MOU, to the best of their ability. Once signed by the heads of each program, this MOU will begin and remain in effect until a Kinesiology Transfer Agreement between UBC and Langara College is in place.
