I have been teaching Latin American Studies at Langara since 2000. I studied at the University of Toronto, UBC and SFU. My academic background is in Political Science and History. Over the course of my life, I've had many chances to live and work in several Latin American countries. Highlights of these forays into Latin America include working with human rights activists in Bolivia, Guatemala and Nicaragua as well as working with environmental initiatives in Cuba, Costa Rica and Ecuador. Before teaching at Langara, I led several overseas study/volunteer tours to Nicaragua, Guatemala, Uruguay and the Philippines.

Hola! I come from one of the most beautiful and diverse countries in South America: Ecuador. I have been teaching at the post-secondary level for 22 years, and my love and passion is Latin America and Hispanic culture. I have travelled extensively throughout Latin America and my heart and soul are there. My specializations are Latin American and Hispanic Literature, Indigenous Studies and Languages (focused primarily in the Andean region), Sociolinguistics, and the Spanish Language. Besides teaching Latin American Studies, I also teach Spanish at Langara.
