The objectives of the Aboriginal Studies Program are:

  • to offer maximum options for its graduates in terms of direct employment and further post-secondary study.
  • to provide each student with a thorough understanding of the historic and current circumstances of Aboriginal life in Canada and abroad.
  • to develop analytical, critical thinking and communication skills.


Upon completion of the Aboriginal Studies Program students are well-versed in the complex issues that continue to affect Aboriginal peoples. Students will have developed the skills and ability to thoroughly analyze and apply their historical and contemporary knowledge of Aboriginal peoples to all of their future endeavours.
