Application Process
How Do I Qualify?
- Have a minimum grade point average of 2.6
- Be registered as a full-time Langara student at the time of application
- Have completed at least one full-time semester at Langara
- Maintain the required GPA and good-standing status until departure for the exchange semester
- Have taken one Japan-related course and two Japanese language courses at Langara. If you are in the process of completing the second Japanese language at the time of application and are conditionally accepted to the program, you must successfully complete the program before leaving for Japan.
- Have the intention of returning to Langara after studying at Tokiwa
- Agree to abide by Japanese law and regulations set forth by Tokiwa
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
What Will I Need To Do To Apply?
Interested and eligible students will be required to:
- Complete and submit the exchange application form and required documents to Valerie Peters, Associate Director, International Programs by the following deadlines:
- February 10th for the Fall semester
- Attend an interview with the exchange selection committee on the date set by the committee, if needed.
Will Tokiwa Also Review My Application?
Yes. After Langara's selection committee has selected the student candidate, he/she will be required to complete an application form for Tokiwa and to submit the form and all required documents to the Associate Director. This information will be forwarded to Tokiwa staff who will review the application and determine if the student is admissible to their program.
