Course Description
Communication strategies are used to establish in the public's mind the key values and goals of an individual, corporation, non-profit, social movement, charity, or other entity. Students learn the practical basics of communications, the art and science of managing a system to provide accessible information and effective messages to the public through multiple channels, including mainstream media, social media, and advertising.
Prerequisite(s): One of the following: a minimum 70% in English First Peoples 12, English Studies 12, Literary Studies 12, or equivalent; a minimum "C" grade in a university-level English course for which Langara College awards transfer credit; a minimum "C" grade in ENGL 1120; an "S" grade in ENGL 1107 or 1110; or permission of the instructor.
