Course Description

Students are equipped with the fundamental tools to engage with the industrial design process. Stressing idea development and object creation, this course introduces a range of professional, industry standard techniques, materials and processes. In this hands-on course, students explore various object development strategies to further develop their core 2D and 3D design skills and develop familiarity with the methodologies of design thinking.

Prerequisite(s): One of LET 3 or LPI with a minimum 26 on the essay and one of 5 in English usage, 5 in sentence structure, or 10 in reading comprehension; a minimum 70% in English Studies 12 or equivalent; a minimum 70% in Literary Studies 12; a minimum 70% in English First Peoples 12; a minimum "C-" in a university-level English or communications course for which Langara awards transfer credit; a minimum "C" in ENGL 1120; an "S" grade in one of ENGL 1107, 1108, or 1110.
