Course Description

This course provides a basic level of instruction for private security accordance with the first component of the Basic Security Training Standards (BST 1) of the Ministry of the Attorney General for British Columbia Licensing. In addition, the course will focus on the role of private security in the protection of commercial and industrial operations against profit loss. The instructor and guest lecturers will cover loss through theft, fraud, robbery, burglary, vandalism, fire, carelessness, etc.

Priority registration in this course is offered to students admitted to the Diploma in Criminal Justice, Diploma in Criminal Justice (BBA Transfer Option), and Diploma in Criminology.
