As a part of an ongoing commitment to maintain services, Langara IT continually enhances and upgrades systems and software. 

This notification outlines an upcoming maintenance window for network upgrades and security patching.

Maintenance windows are selected to minimize down-time for critical College services.  


Security Patching/Infrastructure Upgrade

Type IT Maintenance / Outage window
Description Apply security patches to backend servers supporting Banner service. Upgrade backend servers supporting College WiFi network and Citrix desktops. Apply security patches to all servers.
Customer Impact The following will be unavailable between 7am and 1pm:
  • Banner (Student Records, Finance, and HR systems)
  • myLangara Portal
  • myLangara student email
The following services will experience outages up to 15-minutes each between 1pm and 7pm:
  • College WiFi network
  • Citrix
  • Internet
  • Network drives for students and employees
Other services will experience outages up to 2 hours each between 7am and 7pm, including:
  • MyLibrary (before 11am)
  • myFiles
  • Printing
The following services will NOT be impacted:
  • College website (www.langara.ca)
  • Brightspace by D2L
  • Lynda.com
  • UPASS
  • O365
