Designed for those pursuing a career in massage therapy, and those with a general interest in massage. Learn how to give a basic relaxation massage in this 2-day weekend workshop. Taught by an experienced Registered Massage Therapist, you are introduced to topics such as: proper massage table set up, client draping, body mechanics and basic Swedish massage techniques.NOTE: To register, call the CS Registration Office at 604.323.5322. NOTE: Students with an open ICBC accident claim are not eligible to take this course. Please wait until your claim is resolved, and your health is stabilized.
Therapeutic Touch is a gentle, holistic practice that balances the human energy field. This experiential course will give students the basic skills required to practice Therapeutic Touch. Students will begin to explore the benefits of a healing lifestyle, which supports self-care, self-growth, and self-awareness. This course is a required prerequisite for the Therapeutic Touch Mentorship course.
Explore a more in-depth look at the Therapeutic Touch process including sustained centering, the use of intention and imagery, methods for re-balancing the energy field, and two-person Therapeutic Touch . There will be continued opportunities for practice and feedback to improve skills and insights. Prerequisites: Therapeutic Touch Level 1
Shift from stress to strength in a practical yoga class. Heighten awareness with conscious breathing, sustained poses, sequenced flows, and guided relaxation. Learn various self-care tools to integrate into your daily life. Develop strength, coordination and flexibility through a blended class of various yoga sequences. Please bring a yoga mat and towel. Suitable for all levels. Note: Class is held at main campus.
Experience positive change in how you relate to thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations. Through the use of mindfulness-meditation, cognitive therapy, yoga, and self-compassion discover techniques to manage difficult moods, negative thought processes, and painful emotions. Note: Instructor will contact you prior to the first day of class for a pre-class interview.

Being self-compassionate can aid both us and others. This is a great course for anyone interested in maintaining balance and preventing burnout. It is a must for anyone pursuing their own self-growth and development.
