The Langara Men’s Soccer team came out of the weekend with their first win of the season. The Falcons put together a cohesive performance, holding on to the bulk of possession and building that possession into scoring chances. Taku Ota was a force in the middle of the pitch, with his unrelenting ball pursuit and setting up his teammates with stellar passes. Stefan Jerkovic opened the scoring for the Falcons’ with a sublime strike to the low far post to draw even with the Quest Kermodes who had scored early on. The Falcons then built on that momentum with goals by Kyle Kemp in the 44th minute and Stefan’s second tally of the day in the 56th minute. Goalkeeper Aleks Kalajdzic was solid in net and made some strong saves as Quest pushed to get back in the game. Quest did manage to get one back in the 66th minute. Alexander Escobar then tallied a goal for the Falcons in the 75th minute to restore the 2 goal lead. Quest was able find the net once more in the 84th minute, and pressured the Falcons right up to the final whistle, but the Falcons held on to secure the 4-3 victory.
