Update (September 2021): The food policy below is currently suspended until further notice.
While the mask mandate is in place, no food is allowed in the Library. Drinks in spill-proof cups/bottles are still allowed, but your mask must be worn between sips.
Regular Food & Drink Policy:
Cold ‘finger’ food, such as fruit, granola bars, and cold sandwiches can be eaten in the Library to help maintain your energy level while studying, but please ensure that you dispose of your waste and recycling in the appropriate bins.
No hot or warm, messy or smelly food can be eaten in the Library. Alternate eating areas close to the Library include the lounge area outside of Starbucks and various seating areas in the T Building.
Drinks in spill-proof cups/screw-top bottles are acceptable. We encourage students to be environmentally-friendly by carrying re-useable mugs for coffee or screw-top bottles for water to limit unnecessary waste.
Library users in violation of the food and drink policy may be be asked to discard their food, store it out of sight (e.g. in a bag or knapsack) or leave the Library.
Library staff reserve the right to determine which food and drinks are acceptable in the Library.
Thank you for helping us maintain a clean and welcoming study environment for all students.
