Langara College is a leading provider of classroom-based real estate education. We offer programs and courses in property management, building management, appraisal, development, and social housing management. Certificate programs are flexible and self-paced, conveniently offered during evenings and weekends.

Our programs are recognized by the University of British Columbia, the Appraisal Institute of Canada, the Professional Association of Managing Agents, B.C. Non-Profit Housing Association, and BC Financial Services Authority.

This part-time program equips you to embark on a construction or renovation project on your own home or a small contractor who wants to learn necessary estimating, contract, and cost controlling skills. Many of these courses meet the requirements for formal CPD points as set out by BC Housing. This certificate would appeal to the following:

      - Contractors and consultants
      - Home owners wishing to renovate their house
      - Persons considering a career change
      - Facility supervisors/managers
      - Financial operations managers
      - Maintenance managers

If students complete PROP 1101 and/or PROP 1102, students must have completed a minimum 4 electives for graduation.

Credential Eligibility

To qualify for the certification, students must complete 291 hours of course work. Successful completion of all the required courses with a minimum C+ grade in each course is required. All requirements must be completed within four years of starting the program. Students can complete the program as quick as 2 terms. 

Courses may be taken individually as long as individual course prerequisites are met. Students completing the certificate do not need to apply to the program as registration is by course. There are no academic requirements for students to start the program.
