Support Langara Students Through the Emergency Food Assistance Program

Food insecurity has serious consequences for health and well-being. Post-secondary students are especially vulnerable, with over 50% of students at Canadian institutions experiencing moderate to severe food insecurity.

At Langara College, we are committed to supporting our students in times of need. The Community Cupboard was an on-campus food security program that provided dry goods to students facing financial hardship. In June 2023, we transitioned from offering dry goods to providing emergency grocery gift cards through Financial Aid and Langara Global.

Grocery gift cards offer a more effective way to help students, allowing them to access fresh, nutritious food that meets dietary restrictions, cultural preferences, and reduces waste. This initiative provides emergency assistance, ensuring students have the support they need to succeed.

Please consider making a donation today. Every contribution makes a difference, and all donations over $20 will receive a charitable tax receipt.
