WinstonHead Coach: Winston Brown

Email: wbrown@langara.bc.ca

A Vancouver native, Winston has been a fixture in BC Girls Basketball since 1997. During this time he has been heavily involved in both High School and club basketball at various levels.  After guiding programs at Kitsilano and Lord Byng to several provincial championship appearances, Winston was recruited to coach at York House School.  While at York House, Winston experienced incredible success.  Not only did the program compete in 11 straight provincial championship games (winning 7 of them), but he was also recognized as the Basketball BC Coach of the year two times (2006 and 2011).  To further his coaching development, he served as an associate coach for Scott Reeves at Thompson Rivers University (2015-16).  While on Scott’s staff, the program hosted their first playoff series in the competitive CIS West. Watching coach Reeves establish a new culture and set new expectations for his program has given Winston a template he feels confident will work here at Langara.  Going into his second year, coach Brown is excited about how the program is developing.
