Because a student shouldn't have to choose between school and shelter.
For too many students in Vancouver, the question isn’t just how to pay for tuition – it’s whether they can afford a safe place to live at all.
Langara is piloting a bold new initiative to ease this burden. In partnership with a student housing provider, we’ve begun offering one free month of student rent – and we are planning to match those subsidies with donor support.
Langara wants to ensure that no student’s educational success is hampered by housing stresses.
With your help, we can expand this program dramatically – helping more students stay enrolled, attend class rested and focused, and pursue their education without constant financial stress.
Here’s what your support can enable:
- Monthly rent support for students in greatest need.
- Emergency housing stipends for those at risk of eviction.
- The creation of a long-term, donor-supported housing access fund.
Vancouver’s housing market isn’t going to become more affordable anytime soon. But we can act now to protect student success – and lead by example.
