IEVP Students

Wow! Words fail us when it comes to thank you for your support so far. We launched this urgent appeal two weeks ago, and have received almost $55,000 in donations that when matched totals about $110,000. Thank-you to all of you who have already donated. We are so very grateful, and more importantly, so are our students.

There is still much work to be done. Financial Aid has been flooded with requests for Emergency Bursary funding and our Community Cupboard has seen unprecedented activity. In the last four weeks alone, we have distributed over 550 bags of food (or 11,500 meals) to students and over 600 bursaries to help students meet rent, pay bills and purchase essentials. Requests from students in crisis continue to pour in. While we are trying to fulfil these needs, we know that we will not be able to do so without your assistance.

If you have not already done so, we urge you to donate to our Emergency Response Fund now to help our students in need. To give you an idea:

$25 donation = food for one student for a week;

$70 donation = feeds a family of four for a week;

$100 donation = covers utilities for a student for a month;

$250 donation = rent for a week

$500 donation = an emergency bursary

No donation is too big or too small. Many of these students feel socially and emotionally isolated, and the stress of not having enough to buy food or pay their rent, further affects their mental well-being. We know and understand that these are tough times for everyone. Every little bit helps.  We are all in this together!

Donate Now.

All donations over $20 will be eligible for a tax receipt. The Langara College Foundation will match all donations, thereby doubling your support.

We cannot thank you enough for your generosity during these difficult times.

Stay safe, stay healthy.

Yours sincerely,

Langara College Foundation
