Eric Hogan - CEO Hogan Miller Media
Journalism Graduate (2001)
Graduating in 2001, Eric Hogan knew in his heart his future was as an entrepreneur in Vancouver, but he was fairly certain his Journalism Diploma was leading him back to a small town. He’d grown up in Saskatoon, moved to Vancouver after high school, so small town life writing for a small town newspaper was not his ideal.
It turns out the skills he honed in Langara’s Journalism Diploma program, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit served him well right here in Vancouver. He went on to found two successful businesses in media production.
After school, Eric parlayed his writing skills into a career in PR and advertising, meanwhile learning the ropes of film production in his spare time, working on music videos and short films. Today, Eric is the CEO Hogan Millar Media, an advertising agency specializing in political advocacy.
He founded his other business, Two Story Productions, with his wife, Tara Hungerford. They recently created and produced a Knowledge Network documentary series Take Me Home in which they interviewed prominent British Colombians—artists and athletes including Nelly Furtado, Chris Haddock, and Christine Sinclair—about what the idea of “home" means to the them. They’re also developing children’s television show—called The Gumboot Kids—with the CBC.
Eric is the recipient of Business in Vanvouver’s Top 40 Under 40 Award.
