Wendy is a true trailblazer. Starting her career as a summer intern at the Vancouver Sun, she was part of the award-winning team that covered the notorious Clifford Robert Olson case. In 1985, she combined her love of sports and writing to become one of only four female sports reporters in Canada and the first female to cover sports full-time for the Sun. Over her thirty-year career, she blazed a trail for other female journalists and was a champion for amateur sports, covering multiple Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, and World Championships.
In 2016, Wendy was inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame in the media category – the first female to receive this honour – for her contributions to the field.
