Bruce Hurst is a director and senior shareholder with the public practice firm of Reid Hurst Nagy Inc. He has worked for the Richmond-based firm for over 29 years. He earned his CGA designation in 1982 and was first elected to the CGA-BC Board in September 2006. He is currently the Chair of the CGA-BC Board of Governors. In 2005, he received the Harold Clarke Award for outstanding service to the community and in 2010 was awarded the fellowship designation by CGA-Canada, recognizing his exemplary service to the Association and the profession. Bruce has served on several CGA committees and advisory groups since 1988, including the Public Practice Advisory Group; Strategic Planning Group; and the Finance, Audit, Ethics, Discipline, and Practice Review committees.
Since 1995, Bruce has served as an appointed representative to the CGA Technical Advisory Group, sponsored by the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of BC. In addition, he holds the Certified Financial Planner designation and has been a member of the Financial Planners Standards Council since 1999.
