Langara College honours Rick Etkin for his commitment to photography and community service. No stranger to the world stage, Etkin is a successful commercial photographer with over 30 years of experience. In 2010, he was the Supervisor Photo Services for the Mountain Region with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In addition to his professional work, Etkin is deeply committed to community service. He is a founding member and former president of the Vancouver chapter of the Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communications (CAPIC). He volunteers for the Variety Club and sits on the advisory board of and guest lectures for the Langara College Professional Photo-Imaging Program.
