Kevin Hanson is an award-winning basketball player and coach, and Kinesiology (1986-transfer) alum. As a player, he played for both Langara and UBC, winning five awards for his performance as well as a silver medal at the U-Sports national tournaments. As a coach, he has successfully led teams for Vancouver Community College, Simon Fraser University, UBC, and Langara. During his time at Langara, he led the men’s basketball team to five BCCAA Provincial and two CCAA National championship victories and was honoured with BCCAA Coach of the Year five times, received the CCAA Coaching Excellence Awards two times, and twice named the Basketball BC Coach of the Year.
