Why did you choose Langara to study?
I had known about Langara via my uncle more than five years ago when I started to apply for Post-degree Diploma in Marketing. Of course, at that time, I didn’t know much about Langara College, but one thing that sparked in my mind was that I liked the name. For some reason, I felt so attached to the name compared to other colleges and universities. Not to mention that Langara is located in the heart of Vancouver, which makes it so much easier for commuting. My uncle also told me that Langara was established a long time ago, and that means to us that Langara would offer a better quality of education. Then I chose Langara!
How did your time at the College contribute to your career?
I would say that I am thankful to Langara for giving me an excellent opportunity to learn, make strong connections with great people, and work. The time that I spent at the College was/ is precious. I think I’ve had a fun time at Langara as I have completed a full student-worker circle: studying in LEAP and PDD Marketing, volunteering under VOLT, working as a SWAP student, doing a work term at LEAP, and then working with Domestic Marketing and Recruitment at Langara Global.
What’s your favourite memory of Langara?
I have had a lot of amazing moments at Langara, which I still carry on with me. But if I have to name one, I would say I loved the moment of us – our classmates/ friends and I got together at LSU student lounge to….take a nap before the next class.
What is a fun fact that you would like to share with us?
I started my journey in Canada with the LEAP program in Oct 2016, and then after graduating from PDD Marketing in October 2019, I came back and worked for the LEAP program. What an exciting circle!
Thanks for sitting down with us, Jack!
