Reanna Evoy, Dr. Pushpa Chandra, Hon. Herb Dhaliwal

Vancouver, BC - Langara College is proud to announce the recipients of the 2015 Outstanding Alumni Awards – naturopathic physician Dr. Pushpa Chandra, businessman and politician the Honourable Herb Dhaliwal, P.C., and creative director Reanna Evoy.

The Langara College Outstanding Alumni Awards recognizes exceptional individuals who have enhanced the reputation of Langara through their impressive careers. The event was held at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia on October 29th with over 100 Langara alumni, past Outstanding Award winners, supporters, and staff in attendance.

“We are so honoured to have Dr. Chandra, the Hon. Mr. Dhaliwal, and Ms. Evoy as part of the Langara community, “ said Ajay Patel, Associate Vice-President, International and External Development. “It is both humbling and inspiring to see how, each in their own way, they have positively influenced and shaped the communities they serve through their leadership, commitment, and creativity. It is wonderful to be able to celebrate their achievements together as a community.“

Dr. Chandra is an alumna of the Nursing program (1980). She was honoured for her work as an intensive care nurse at BC Children’s Hospital; naturopathic doctor specializing in integrative pediatric care and sports medicine, and volunteer for Operation Rainbow, an organization providing medical treatment and surgery to under privileged children in India.

The Honourable Herb Daliwal, P.C. is an Arts & Science alumnus (1972). He was honoured for his body of work as a politician (Member of Parliament for Vancouver South, Minister of National Revenue, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, Minister of Natural Resources for BC); a businessman, and as a social activist for clean water and sanitation.

Reanna Evoy is an alumna of the Publishing Techniques & Technologies program (2002). She was honoured for her award-winning body of creative work as the art director for Air Canada’s enRoute magazine and creative director for ALDO and Call It Spring brands.
