Overview:

 Asian-Canadian Special Events Association is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization that creates sustainable projects in the areas of arts and culture, and works with partners across British Columbia, Canada, and internationally. ACSEA is guided by our mandate for Community Engagement, Fostering New Artistic and Cultural Expressions, and creating a Platform to Learn and Share.

ACSEA has a long history of curating and producing large events, including a very successful partnership with Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Cultural Olympiad. Our signature events are spread throughout the year: LunarFest near the end of winter, TAIWANfest.

Position Title: Onsite Event Volunteers - 2022 TAIWANfest

Position Description:

As restrictions lift in Vancouver, we are looking forward to once again holding the festival in the heart of the city and sharing arts and culture in person. This year TAIWANfest plans to bring art exhibits, workshops, activities, food demonstrations, and performances to Downtown Vancouver. We welcome anyone who is interested in culture, history, music, and arts to join us onsite and learn more about Asian culture together!

As part of our Dialogue with Asia series, TAIWANfest is embarking on a cultural exchange with Indonesia and Malaysia. As cultures that have faced colonization and are rich in Indigenous histories, what kind of connections can we discover?

We are looking for onsite volunteers to help us with the exhibitions and info booths this year. Roles and responsibilities include:

Ambassadors: Taking the lead to support fellow volunteers at your designated activity
Front of House: Directing guests and managing ticketing at performance venues
Photographers: Capturing the precious moments at TAIWANfest through your lens
Stage Manager: Ensuring performances run smoothly from behind the scenes
Event Volunteers: Assisting guests at various booths and activities at TAIWANfest
