Sexual Respect Ambassador
Langara has a number of employees who are Sexual Respect Ambassadors. These are employees who are knowledgable about the policy and available resources, and have been specifically trained on how to listen respectfully to individuals who disclose they have been the subject of sexual violence. Here is the contact list for our current list of ambassadors.
Need someone to talk to? Our counsellors are there to provide emotional support, safety planning, referrals and guidance. You can make a regular appointment by calling 604.323.5221 or emailing email@example.com. However, if you are in an crisis, please go directly to the Counselling Department in Room B111 and alert the receptionist that you need to see a Counsellor immediately.
Another important step is to check on your physical health. Our Health Services Department have a physicians and an advanced practice nurse to provide medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments including STI testing and pregnancy tests. They will also provide referrals and guidance on any other health concerns you may have.
Student Conduct & Judicial Affairs (SCJA)
This is the first step to make a complaint or request special accommodations. The SCJA Office can help you explore your options, connect you to on-campus resources, and make referrals to community organizations.
Campus Safety & Security
Want to create a safety plan for yourself? Need First Aid? Campus Security can help you with that. All Security Officers on campus are First Aid certified. They also provide a 24H safe-walk service on campus.
If you are registered as a student with disability services, you can visit the Disability Services Office for additional support and resources.

If you do not initially feel comfortable speaking with any of the above, consider approaching a Langara instructor or staff member that you trust and are familiar with. They can help you navigate the next steps.
Connecting with campus resources does not require you to make a formal report. You get to decide what options you would like to pursue – if any.
