The Research Paper: Advice to Help You Get Started

Have you been assigned a research paper in one of your classes?  Are you having trouble getting started?  Do you need help narrowing your topic?  Then this workshop is for you!  Join this workshop to learn about the pitfalls one can face when writing a research essay and learn about tricks for getting started.  This workshop will provide useful information about research papers on a variety of subjects.  Feel free to bring your research paper topic along in order to ask for topic specific advice.

Integrating Sources in Research Papers

Do you have an upcoming research paper and are afraid of committing unintentional plagiarism?  Do you know when you need to cite a source?  Can you determine if something is common knowledge or not?  Come to this workshop and get your questions answered!  This workshop will cover how to correctly summarize and paraphrase a source as well as how to integrate a quotation into an essay.  Handouts on the three major styles of documentation will also be available for students at the end of the workshop.
