A message to Langara students from Langara Counselling Services regarding recent events on campus
Langara Counselling Services acknowledges the significance of events that took place on Monday, April 1st, and the potential impact this may have on our students.
If you or any other student you know is experiencing a reaction or distress from this event, please know that the Langara Counsellors are available to meet with you.
In the coming days and weeks, you might experience different emotions and feelings. Please take care of yourself and know that you are cared about as a member of the Langara community.
The Langara Counselling Department responds to the needs of students by encouraging their educational success and personal growth. The counsellors are professionals trained to provide a variety of confidential counselling services.
The Counselling Department is open from 8:30 am–4:30 pm Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 am–4:00 pm on Fridays.
How to Book an Appointment
For an appointment, please phone the receptionist at 604.323.5221 or come to room B111 to make the booking in person. Drop-ins (short consultations of 10 to 15 minutes) are available daily during specific times to currently and/or previously enrolled students. Urgent and crisis appointments are also available. All students requesting Counselling appointments will be asked to complete a brief triage form and answer questions to determine need and urgency. Please note: Langara’s Counselling Services are in high demand and are a limited resource. This means there will be times when students may have to wait in order to see a Counsellor, especially during busy periods.
We also have a Counsellor located in the Indigenous Gathering Space (room C140).
Please bring your student identification card or picture ID when booking or attending appointments.
