Every year, Convocation is a celebration for students who have completed their studies at Langara. It is an event that reminds us of the institution's primary function - serving our students and community. This year, we are excited to have this year's ceremonies taking place offsite at the Orpheum once again.
The detailed ceremony schedule is now available. Please note the morning ceremonies start at 9:45 am and the afternoon ceremonies start at 3:15 pm. We wish to extend an invitation to all faculty and CS Instructors to attend Convocation.
Doors open at 8:00 am for the morning ceremonies and 1:30 pm for the afternoon ceremonies at 865 Seymour Street. Staff and faculty should have either have an electronic or printed copy of their ticket for entrance into the Orpheum Theatre. To download your ticket, please log into your ticketing account here.
Order Your Ticket to Convocation Starting May 1st
This year, all faculty and CS Instructors who wish to attend Convocation must order a complimentary ticket. As seating in the Orpheum is extremely limited, we cannot guarantee a ticket for everyone who would like to attend. Tickets to the ceremonies are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Ticketing is now closed. Please contact email@example.com for more information.
Order Your Regalia by May 17th
All faculty and CS Instructors must wear regalia to participate in the Convocation Ceremonies or sit in the reserved seating area. Faculty, staff, and CS Instructors will be responsible for ordering regalia themselves via the Gaspard website. Orders must be submitted before May 17th. Regalia rentals will be provided at no charge to faculty, staff, and CS Instructors who submit their order prior to the May 17th deadline.
Regalia can be reserved from the Gaspard website between May 1, 2019 and May 17, 2019.
Do You Own Your Regalia?
If you own your regalia and are attending the Convocation Ceremonies, please email firstname.lastname@example.org prior to May 17th to let us know. We are able to steam your regalia prior to the ceremonies, and can also transport owned regalia to the Orpheum in advance of the ceremonies.
Joining the Platform Party
If you wish to be part of the Platform Party (on stage and subject to availability), please contact Alice Hsu directly at email@example.com before Friday, May 10th to make your request and order your regalia. Please note that members of the Platform Party will not be able to leave their seats to shake hands with the graduates. If you would like to shake hands with your students, we suggest you do not join the Platform Party.
Transportation to the Orpheum
After reserving regalia, faculty and CS Instructors may request transit passes from the Convocation Team to cover the cost of their transport between the College and the Orpheum. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request transit passes.
We hope that you will be able to join us to help celebrate student success!
