President’s Medal for Academic Excellence and Community Service

To honour Bachelor’s Program graduates who demonstrate academic excellence and community service.

Have you applied to graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Recreation Management, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing? Do you have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5? Do you have a strong history of recent community service? If you do, you may qualify for a President's Medal for Academic Excellence and Community Service ($1,250), which recognizes academic excellence and service to community.  

Submit a completed application form to apply.  The application deadline is April 30th, 2018 at 4:00 pm.

Lieutenant Governor’s Medal

Established in 1979 by the Ministry of Advanced Education, the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal is awarded to students in vocational or career programs less than two years long who have excelled in their studies and who have contributed to the life of their post-secondary institution or their community.

Have you applied to graduate from an Aboriginal Studies, Education Assistant, Engineering, Film Arts, Internet and Web Technology, Journalism, Publishing, or Social Service Worker Certificate Program? Do you have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5? Do you have a strong history of recent community service? If you do, you may qualify for the Lieutentant Governor's Medal, which recognizes academic excellence and service to community.

Submit a completed application form to apply.  The application deadline is April 30th, 2018 at 4:00 pm.

Additional graduation awards:

The following awards do not require an application.

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Bachelor’s Degree)
Awarded to the Bachelor’s Program graduate with the highest cumulative grade point average ($1,500).

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Arts and Science)
Awarded to the student graduating from a two-year Arts and Science Program with the highest cumulative grade point average ($1,000).

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Career)
Awarded to the student graduating from a two-year Career Program with the highest cumulative grade point average ($1,000).

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Certificate)
Awarded to the student graduating from a Certificate Program with the highest cumulative grade point average ($500).

Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Medal
Awarded to the student graduating from a two-year Diploma or Associate Degree Program with the highest cumulative grade point average.

Langara College Lieutenant Governor's Medal Recipient (Cash) Award
Awarded to the student receiving the Lieutenant Governor's Medal ($500).  If the student awarded the Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Certificate) for the highest CGPA is the same student awarded the Lieutenant Governor's Medal, only one cash award of $500 will be issued.
