Transferability

The Associate of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition program prepares students to meet course requirements for application to the BSc (Food, Nutrition and Health) program in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at UBC, with a second option for transfer into dietetics, if eligible. The curriculum has been updated for 2018 and may qualify graduates for admission to similar baccalaureate programs at other universities across Canada. Students should start at their goal placement and work backwards to ensure that they do have the prerequisites needed for entry.

If the student does wish to apply to the UBC Dietetics program, note that completion of the Associate of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition allows the student to apply to the Faculty of Land and Food Systems. A separate application needs to be made to the Dietetics Majors program.

Students who have completed this program or a portion of it can transfer many of the courses to one of the streams of the Nutrition and Food Service Management Program at Langara College.

To confirm the transfer equivalents at other post secondary facilities refer to www.bctransferguide.ca or consult with Langara College’s Counselling Department for details.
