Fake news, the new media, and academic freedom
With the advent of new technologies and new media, information is more plentiful than ever before. It is also easier than ever before for disinformation and propaganda to be widely circulated. Trying to navigate this maze of information can be a challenge. What role, if any, should colleges and universities play in helping citizens distinguish between reliable information and fake news?
All sessions take place Thursdays at 7:00 pm on the main campus (100 West 49th Ave., Vancouver) in the employee lounge. Enter off the cafeteria located in the A Building or follow the directional signs.
