It is a challenging and unprecedented time for all of us. There are a lot of useful resources to help you navigate this world health event we’re facing – please explore them:

Vaccination

We are pleased to report that 90% of our employees either have been vaccinated or plan to be vaccinated by this fall, and 85% of students indicated the same. This is great news, as this high percentage of vaccination will support the safety of all of us on campus.

If you have not yet registered to be vaccinated yet, all BC residents ages 12+ are encouraged to learn about the COVID-19 vaccines and to register to be vaccinated with BC's Get Vaccinated system, if you choose to do so.

International students will be eligible for vaccination once they arrive in BC and can find information online to book an appointment without a Personal Health Number (PHN).

Learn more about the eligibility and phases of immunization.

Mental Health Support
It’s normal for you to feel stressed, overwhelmed, or worried about how COVID-19 will impact your studies, your health, and those around you. There are resources to provide strategies for dealing with this world health event:

Langara Counselling Department
Students can connect with a Counsellor or Advising Assistant for support via face-to-face, telephone, email, or a secure online platform (Zoom). Please email counselling@langara.ca or call 604.323.5221 and leave your name, student ID, and a brief summary of what you would like assistance with. We will get back to you as soon as possible. Visit the Counselling website for more information.

Peer Wellness
Peer Wellness Sessions support student well-being by creating a safe, welcoming, accessible environment to discuss mental health and wellness. During sessions, expect non-judgmental listening, information about available resources, opportunities to reflect, and strategies for healthy coping. The goal is to leave sessions feeling supported, optimistic, and empowered to make your own choices. One-on-one and group sessions open for all students.
