Abstracts are freely available for most of the articles. However, reading the entire article may require a subscription database. Don’t ever PAY for articles. If Langara Library doesn’t have it, we can try to borrow it from another library. Try the following on the Google Scholar results page:

  1. Click "Find it at Langara", to the right of the article; (see section below to enable this feature from off-campus)
  2. Click a link labeled [PDF] or [DOC] to the right of the search result;
  3. If no full-text is available you can order a copy through Langara Library's Interlibrary Loans service.
  4. You can also get individual help finding either the full text, or related articles at Ask a Librarian.
  5. To get similar articles, click "Related articles" or "Cited by" available under each article.

Enabling the "Find it at Langara" feature from off-campus
If you are a current Langara student, you should see “Find it at Langara" when searching on campus. Off campus, you need to tell Google Scholar what institution you are associated with.

  1. Go to “Settings” on Google Scholar's homepage and then “Library Links”
  2. Type in “langara”
  3. Tick the boxes beside both "Langara College - Find it at Langara" and "LANGARA COLLEGE - ProQuest Fulltext"
  4. When you are off-campus, after you click on “Find it at Langara” and then an article link, you will be required to login with your Langara ID and PIN in order to access the full article.
