As one of BC's leading post-secondary institutions, Langara's mission is to provide accessible undergraduate education opportunities that meet the needs of our diverse community. The College is known for quality, student-centric education and progressive programming; we provide University, Career, and Continuing Studies programs and courses to more than 21,000 students annually.

Langara started as part of Vancouver City College in 1965 and became an independent public college under the Provincial College and Institute Act on April 1, 1994. Visit the Welcome to Langara page to learn more about our organization's 40+ year history.

Langara & Musqueam

Langara College sits on the unceded traditional territory of the Musqueam Nation. In the spirit of honouring the close relationship between Langara and the Musqueam people, the College was bestowed with a Musqueam name meaning 'house of teachings' at a formal ceremony on January 11, 2016. The ceremony marked the first time a BC First Nation was given an Aboriginal name to a public post-secondary institution.
